ABSTRACT
none
The Journal of Vascular Access is a new tool to communicate and share scientific information among the people involved in the wide field of vascular access. The journal will include editorials, original papers and technical reports related to vascular access in dialysis, oncology, nutrition and intensive care.
Aim of The Journal of Vascular Access is to give the readers the opportunity to have a specific means of information and culture in the growing field of modern approach to patient needs.
Considering that The Journal of Vascular Access will focus on topics from different areas, it is presumable that an exchange of experiences would generate useful ideas to improve the quality of clinical assistance. In addition the journal will welcome contributions in the field of biomaterials along with new devices.
The journal is published in association with GAVeCeLT, an Italian multidisciplinary group devoted to long-term vascular access. In the meantime we are also negotiating with other International Scientific Societies in order to give them the opportunity to have The Journal of Vascular Access as flag of their scientific activities.
The journal will also have an on-line version, which will be available, free of charge, for subscribers to the printed version.
Finally, I would assume that all people involved in this field, will partecipate to the success of The Journal of Vascular Access by sending their scientific contributions to our Editorial Office. I assure a prompt evaluation of papers, mainly if the material will be sent via e-mail; in this way, also the reviewers will receive the manuscripts by e-mail, thus minimizing the time between submission and acceptance. Obviously, no scientific journal can be indexed in the major bibliographic indexes with the first issue; this inclusion normally needs, at least, 2-3 years. During this period we will do everything possible to improve the quality of the journal, in order to increase the possibility to be indexed soon.
With best whishes of good work with us.
